Lee Corso Stroke
For a man who suffered a stroke in May 2009, Leland “Lee” Corso may be a little slower but there is still no stopping him.
The sports broadcaster and football analyst for ESPN, has featured on ESPN’s Colleges GameDay program since its inception. He also appears annually as a commentator for the EA Sports NCAA Football.
When he is not doing all of that he serves as the Director of Business Development for Dixon Ticonderoga, a Florida based Pencil making company. ( He even in 2001 spearheaded an effort to make a crayon made completely of soy beans.)
Corso who was born in Lake Mary, Florida attended the Miami Jackson Senior High, where he also played quarterback.
With his skill he played college football at the Florida State University, where he was actually the roommate of Burt Renynolds.
He set the record for the most career interceptions as a defensive player (14), which stood for a whole two decades until broken by Monk Bonasorte.
Corso was also an important player for FSU.
When he graduated from Florida State with his bachelors degree in physical education in 1957, then also a masters degree in 1958, of administration and supervision, he became a coach for the quarterbacks at the University of Maryland. He worked as a coach for several teams having his hand in some very important decisions.
Lee was hired as an analyst by ESPN in 1987, for the College GameDay program. He is known for his humour and comedic interactions with co-hosts Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, while they cover the major football games from August through to January.
He made a cameo in a 2006 Nike ad featuring a fictional Briscoe High School football team, played by such players as Michael Vick, LaDainian Tomlinson, Brian Urlacher, Troy Polamalu, Don Shula, Jimmy Johnson and Urban Meyer.
He is a member of the Florida State University Hall of Fame, The University of Louisville Hall of Fame, The Florida Sports Hall of Fame, and is also a member of the Seminole Club of Greater Miami Inducted into the “77 Club.”
Fathers Day
Fathers need more love. To receive more love, a man needs to grow stronger and learn give more love. Every day as a father is a privilege to enjoy. To have children is a gift from mothers made possible by God. Hence we may as well celebrate parents day dedicated to God and Love together with our happy children.
In modern times fathers often enjoy easy money jobs and lazy office jobs and thus drift away from being a true traditional male man intended to be lover for mothers. Wrong jobs and wrong living environment make people drift away from God intended goals and inner harmony. True value is man made. True values in life have to do with true love and never with money or material wealth. To be a better father requires to be a stronger man and to be more useful as a member of society and local community.
